Tyson Craig Beckford is was born on DEC 19, 1971 in New York City, NY. He grew up, though in Rochester, NY (near Buffalo) and Jamaica. Rochester is a cold, and sometimes dreary area, where the snow keeps you covered all winter long. I'm originally from that area.

Back to Tyson, his teenage years were spent dwindling in gangs, drugs, and theft. He says he'd be in jail if he hadn't been pulled off the street in 1991 by a editor from "The Source". The editor scouted Tyson, and through that connection he was able to get in touch with a New York agency and within months he was in front of the cameras.

By 1995 Tyson was on the cover of many major magazines. He also starred in Toni Braxton's video "Unbreak My Heat." The year 2000 will see Tyson starring in his first feature film - Punks.
